Blog Hop 2010

Last year I miss the blog hop party where blogger get to introduce themselves to other bloggers, and get to meet new friends. I am on the ball this year. So, for all of you who have been reading this blog regularly, and/or all of you visiting me for the first time, here is a brief introduction of of I am.

My name is Joelle and I am a christian SAH homeschool mom. I am married to my wonderful, loving, God fearing, avid reader and also good cook, husband. We have been married for 8 years, and we have 2 wonderful, very happy, active, handsowme boys, ages 6 and 4 (soon to be 7 and 5).

We are a very mixed family. I am a french citizen born on the island of Martinique, my husband was born in Manilla in the Philippines, and my 2 boys were born in Jamaica, where we ministered for 4 years.

We love cooking, watching shows such as NCIS, CSI NY, the Mentalist, Bones, Castle, and Chuck, which often lends itself to very deep theological conversations. We also love to travel and go on road trips. We love to have people over and be of service to our fellow believers.

This blog is my attempt at chronicling our adventures in homeschooling, and also at helping other homeschoolers by sharing helpful links and websites that I come across with. Occasionally, I also share about books, parenting and christian living.

I love to play games and have fun. I am known for my very heartfelt and loud laughter, which I guess is a good thing. I really enjoy reading blogs and meeting new people.

You can also find me @ The Recipe Box were I try to keep an online records of recipes from my kitchen (Remember we love cooking and baking here, and we love food!).

Above all we strive to glorify our wonderful God who made us and provided salvation for his people, not on our own merit but on the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We strive to teach this to our kids, and exemplify a life of submission to God's sovereignty and His Word.

Have a look around and let me know you stopped by. I would love to meet you all.

If you want to meet other bloggers like myself, hop on over at Pensieve.

PS: I am also linking this post to the blog Hop -making friends, over at Our Worldwide Classroom.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I really admire homeschooling moms! We tried it this past fall using a state based program (K12). I was really liking it ,but my oldest (who was in 5th grade) really missed school, and his friends.

Chuck is one of our favorite shows!!

You look like you are truely blessed!

Thanks for visiting my blog! We're planning on homeschooling in a few years - I'm so excited about it!

I've never been to Martinique or Jamaica, but I've visited St. Lucia before, and I loved it. Wasn't so crazy about the heat, but the people were wonderful!

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's story:   When

I have to admit I am in love with our first review product from the 2015 crew year. We received a full year subscription to Visual Learning Systems 's Digital Online Science Program Elementary edition and S econdary edition .
