Latest school delivery

I just received my latest school material delivery. How exciting! Zach finished his BJU Reading 1 a few weeks ago, and I have been waiting for reading 2 to arrive. Here are what we will be working on for the next few months: Reading: BJU Reading 2, book A Math: Still working our way through AOP Horizon K ; We've done a few pages from Handwritting: BJU Cursive Writting 2 Spelling: Building spelling skills 1 by Christian Liberty Press, and Natural Speller by Kathryn Strout. We've also started First Language Lessons for The Well Trained Mind By Jessie Wise, which I am really enjoying. I am planning to start  BJU English 2 once I get through The First language lessons. I got all my materials from this book selling site I recently found Nest Learning . They really have good competitive prices. Christian book is still a favorite as well. Have a great day, Joelle

Devotion time

Devotion time or family worship is a very important and vital part of any christian family life, if we want to bring up kids in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour. We cannot save them, but we can certainly tell them about God and Christ, His love, and salvation and teach them to trust, believe and obey God our Creator. Of course, nothing beats examples, (Our life is the best encouragement and testimony they have) but the Word of God is powerful; so we must entrust them to our Children. And besides, it is a command: In our home we try to do this twice a day: before breakfast and before going to bed. Here is what we have use as aids: Leading Little Ones to God by Marian M. Schoolland A child's Book of Character Building by Ron and Rebekah Coriell Family Time Bible Storybook by Gospel Light The One Year Children's Bible by Rhona Davies which is what we use in the morning. The Big Book of Questions and Answers by Sinclair Ferguson ,which we are just about to start. Hav...

It's been awhile

Granma's been here from the Philipines and the whole family's been enjoying that. Daddy started his radiation therapy today and we all hope that everything will go well and that life will be back to normal soon. Though, what is normal is really a mystery to me. . . I actually like having my hubby home, doing most of the cooking. Who wouldn't? I am very excited at zachary's violin progress and is very anxious to have him play his first song, which is probably going to be in a while still. His bow hand still needs work and he is just starting to learn what to do with his violin fingers. Today was one of those days when everything went smothly, 2 school subjects back to back without complaining, then violin et voila. Oh, for everyday to be like that! Let's be thankful for our little blessings! Have a great day, Joelle

Gift lapbook

We have not done many lapbooks recently, mainly because of Zach's thing with crafts and trying to fit school and violin, but I managed to fit one in on Gift. I got it from a pack of 4 bought on Currclick (others were F for Fruits of the Spirit;  H for Help, J for Jesus). Have a great day, Joelle
