Some Cool Astronomy Ressources

As I mentioned before I have been recently very interested  in the 4 fields of science and especially Astronomy. I am not a science geek, so this is way above my head, but I am determined to learn. Good thing my hubby is a chemist graduate . . . Also, in the course of studying A Child's Geography by Ann Voskamp, my 8 year old son, who already liked science, is developing a taste for more science knowledge discovery. So, while looking for answers for some of his questions, I stumbled upon these sites which I though were pretty cool (some new and some old): The KidsKnowIt from where you can end up @ KidsAstronomy.com Cool Cosmos Kidipede KidsKonnect.com NASA Science NASA Website ESA Kids (European Space Agency) NeoK12

Studies of Ancient Civilizations Extra Resources

I love TOG because of its breadth and width of information and literature. Within the curriculum you will find plenty of resources to read along with each unit. I did do some extra reading for myself and also with Zach just to complement and add more variety in style and ways of presenting the subject matter; Zach has developed a real interest for History. Here is a list of resources that I found useful while studying the Ancient Civilizations in our Tapestry of Grace curriculum year 1: Atlas and books : The Kingfisher Atlas of the Ancient World The Visual Dictionary of Ancient Civilizations The Atlas of Ancient Civilizations The Atlas of the Ancient World The Kingfisher Book of Ancient World from the Ice Age to the Fall of Rome The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia The Big Book of Civilizations Questions and Answers: Ancient Civilizations Time Life Student Library: Ancient Civilizations Exploring History: Ancient Civilizations Ancient Civilizations : Discovering the People and Places of...

Weekly Wrap-Up

It's Friday and time for a wrap-up or should I say for 2 wrap-ups since I missed last week yet again. The weeks are definitely going too fast . . . In the past 2 weeks we have been strolling along looking forward to a week off next week after 7 straight weeks of full gear schooling. We've completed the 2 week-study of Ancient Greece in TOG and learned about the Minoans and Myceneans, as well as the story of the Trojan Horse. We completed multiplying and dividing by 2's and 3's in Math. There is still lots of room for mastering the facts but the concepts are down. We've worked on writing letters in our BJU English as well as learned about pronouns. French and Latin have been on the back burner these past 2 weeks, but I planned to sneak in some reviews here and there. In our Bible curriculum we focussed on orderliness. In Science we started our RS4K on Physics and the kids are having a good time with it (so am I).I really like Real Science 4 Kids and hope to write a r...
