Not Back-to-School Week 4

NBTSbloghop
It's another week of Not back-to-school. This week's theme is A Day in the Life.

How does our day typically run? Well, let's see . . .

I try to wake up before everybody else, that is anytime between 6:30 and 7:30.  Take my shower, have my cofee while having devotion then at the computer.

Then, the boys wake up one after the other (any time between 7:30-8:30). Time to prepare breakfast while the boys either play and/or watch PBS kids, namely, Curious George and Kid the Science Kid and sometimes Super Why.

Then it's breakfast time, after or during which (depending on how long it takes them to eat), we have our family Bible memory verse and Bible reading.

Next is grooming time (wash hands, brush teeth, get dressed etc..)

Next is school. We cover 3-4 subjects, depending on the day. The time we spend here depends on how fast Zach works on his math (which is usually forever), and on any writing he has to do (which is forever as well). Joho either does some school as well, or plays with Daddy (Daddy will be on sick leave for a while more, which is really helpful with keeping Joho busy while I work with Zach), or he plays on his own (puzzle, playdoh or legos usually), or he is at the computer.

That's Zach playing with his pen while supposedly doing his math.

Once school is done, Zach gets to watch a video on his subject of the moment, which, for the past few months, has been construction., Then it's Violin practice. Next is snack/lunch.

The afternoon is spent either playing (the 2 boys together), at the playground, or watching some more educational videos, or even all of the above. That is also the time when we will have any craft or science project.

Dinner is usually anytime between 5:30 and 6:30. Then it's bath time, sometimes clean up time, then  story time. They get read 2-4 books depending on how well and how fast they cleared up. Then it's devotion time,  see here for what we use.

Bed time, is usually anytime between 7:30-8:30. They both get to read in bed. Joho is usually down after 2 books. Zach tends to read quite a bit more before he is out. Often time he asks for a midnight snack (usually cereals), which he only gets if Joho is a sleep (I do not want Joho to get started on this too). Unfortunately, I get called quite a few time up to 9:30-10:00.

If you wonder where Joho is, he is under a blanket somewhere. I remembered to take the picture too late, he was already done reading.

And that's our day in a glance. For more A Day In the Life visit Darcy at Life with my 3 Boybarians.

Have a great day,

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's sto...
