It is Friday and time for a recap of the week.
From the Heart:
We had a good week this week. It has been a long time since school ran very smoothly and I was not running around crazy. I am pretty sure it has a lot to do with me getting back to a routine of waking up between 6:30 and 7:00, showering, making breakfast and having my devotion over my coffee. I thank the Lord for His grace in this area and pray for more.
From the school front:
Till the 21st of June, which is our departure date to visit granpa and Grandma in the Caraibean, we will be doing FLL, Math, Science and Handwriting. This week we covered these subjects faithfully. In Math I've finally found a way to get Zach to enjoy the tedious work of doing operations (practice is a must in Math for fact retention and proficiency, and Zach hates repetition.) We have been doing math competitions, he calls it a race. I write down the operations on the board and we both do them at the same time, he on the board and I in the book using a protector sheet. It's been working like a charm. I am a happy mom!
Even Joho has been very cooperative with shcool this week. He agreed to do 3 subjects on Tuesdays and Fridays and 1 on Wednesday and Thursdays. I will try to slip in more on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I am fine with his plan. He's doing very well academically I have no need to push him.
We also did crafts:
Had some outdoor time:
New Happenings:
This week we also started soccer with our homeschooling group. Joho was really anticipating that and had a blast. Zach, well, let's say he is not the athletic one.
This has been the kid's favorite play this week right in their bedroom:

I have also been busy planning our next school year. I will be posting about what I have done so far in future weeks. I've got my first shipment in yesterday. What excitment! I've got 3 more orders to put in at Amazon.com., Amazon.ca and Rainbow ressources. You can check my planned curriculum choices on my curriculum page.
I have listened to an online workshop from Tapestry Of Grace. It was very helpful as I am planning to start TOG in the fall. Make sure you check it out as they offer half of their summer sessions for free (1 each month in May, June, July, and August)
From the kitchen:
I've made Chocolate Chip pie this week, after Joho had been bugging me for weeks for it. It wen so fast, I have no pictures to show for it. Also I've fnally gone back and started postd again at my other blog The Recpe Box.

DD and I used to race on doing math problems. It was a great motivator for her. Now I work f/t, so we don't do it.
Blessings,
