Maximize Your Morning Challenge: Week 4

This post is late in the week, but I had a pretty busy week.

So we are at week 4 of the Maximize Your Morning Challenge. How is everyone doing?

On my part, I am still trying to keep pushing myself. I am still waking up in the 7ish time slot (still not quite the 6:30 I had aimed for), but that's because I have not mastered the going to sleep earlier part.

The Bible reading is going fine. The prayer calendar is not quite up but definitely in the cogitating stages. Hopefully it will be up next week.

The exercise, well, let's not talk about that one. I will try to work on that one the rest of this week.

This week is about Creating a Planning Routine.

  1. Create a Master Calendar with all your events and responsibilities: I have a couple of these. One around the desk area, and one around the dining area.

  1. Make a Master To Do List - get your to do list out of your brain and onto paper (or pixel): I am a list doer but I never follow them. This is another area where I need to follow the plan. This is another challenge for me this week.

  1. Select 3-5 recipes to make each week: My husband makes a menu every week. Blessed me!

  1. Print out the Daily Overview (or make your own) and fill it out each day: Ok that one I will have to work on.It is closely related to #2. In the past I have printed a few of those and filled in some areas, but never actually followed through using them. Let's see if that is something that I will be able to implement. They have been printed, so see you next Monday to see a picture of them.

So that's it for this week. Even though I am not doing as well as I would hope, I am not discouraged because I know the measure of success is not as much what we accomplish  as  how faithful we are to the task. Yet again, I will say the key is not to give up and pressing towards the goal, trusting God for his grace. Habits are hard to change!

Make sure to visit So I married a mennonite to read of other following this challenge.

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's sto...
