Praise the Lord we had a good productive week. We went back on schedule with our school subjects. I changed the scheduling yet again, but I am fine with that. One thing I understand with homeschooling, is that we have to be ready to change at any time, whether it be curriculum, style or schedule.
I had started to do school in the afternoon, now, our schedule goes, 1 or 2 subjects, then they are allowed to play something, then back for 1 or 2 subjects, then play some, and so on, until we have completed the plan for the day. This is new so we will see how that goes.
We covered Math with subtractions using manipulative, and some number exercise from Professor B on going from one form to another, as well as additions facts on 9+, 8+, 7+ and 6+.
We continued on our BJU English, Science with AHA Science, Handwriting, French with Powerspeak, and we even were able to cover some of our week 7 in Tapestry of Grace. Lots of reading and talking here.
We were able to fit in Science from Real Science 4 Kids today. We talked about mixtures and of course the boys had fun making some interesting mixtures.
Joho and I finally got to work on a project he was given for his birthday:
The Royal Ontario Museum here in Toronto, commonly know as the ROM is offering free admission every Wednesdays after 3:00 PM, so we took advantage and had a playdate over there. Zach was very happy to see the exhibits on Ancient Egypt, and it was very appropriate and helpful given our current study in TOG year 1.
Zach was estatic to notice that he was standing on a map of Egypt. They were able to review their geography terms.

Another highlight of the week was our annual apple picking on Monday, the boys had fun and we got lots of apples. Unfortunately the camera would not cooperate so not so many pictures for that.
So, this week we had apple coffee cake, Apple muffins, apple pancakes and apple pie. You can check my Recipe Box blog for some recipes.
