Happy New Year and an update

Wow, it's been a few weeks since I posted about our life here.

Well, 2011 started with us moving. In this new year, we have a new home, a new church and a new neighbourhood. Our move on the 1st went well with the help of our brethren. The kids got to stay with some friends and had a grand time. I was sick over Christmas and New Year, so I was not much help, but by the grace of God I was still able to do some of what needed to be done. The whole family actually got some cold at some point during this time period.

Now we are all moved in, mostly unpacked and settled in our new environment, and I can finally take a few minutes to post.

We started back school, after a month off, on Tuesday. The kids actually did well and were quite dilligent. Makes you wonder if long breaks do not have benefits . . .

Our schedule changed a bit as my hubby's day off is going to be Thursday now. So, instead of Monday, there won't be any school on Thursday.

Hopefully I'll be posting a bit more in the coming days. I am sorry to my blogosphere friends for the lack of comments, it's been busy. My reader is full, I am scared to even look at it. On top of this I really want to focus more on schooling (instead of reading about others schooling, which I love to do  . . .), and keeping the house in order. Hopefully I'll get to visit you still though.

In the mean time I wish you all a Happy New Year filled with God's blessings and care.

Happy New Year to you, too! I'm your newest rss feed follower! Thanks for visiting today. We started school back last week and it was a struggle (and we only took off 2.5 weeks)! We haven't had complete school this week either due to the snow storm that struck NW GA. ~ Ellen

Glad you and the family are all feeling better. Also glad that you are all moved and settled. I understand about wanting to read and visit everyone. It is so hard. However, we must concentrate on our schooling as well! Blessings!

Homeschooling site

I have come across a few great homeschooling sites recently and thought I would share them. Budget Homeschool provides you with tips on how to homeschool on a budget, and has a large array of internet resources. Mathisfun is a great site for math ressources and games. Mathfactcafe is another free math ressource. M ath playground contains a large array of online math games, math problems and puzzles, as well as small tutorials Science with me has great animations, printables and information for teaching science. The best part it is free. Kidskreate is a site with lots of different crafts. They are categorized which make searching really easy Little giraffe is a great site for kindergarden with lots of ideas, projects and ressources. Lesson plan page is a sites with ideas for lesson on all the differents subjects by grades. Kinderart is a great sites for those who really like arts and cratfs. Homeschooling - A Glimpse into How We Do it

2016 was a pretty skimpy blogging year for me. Ask me why, I am not sure I have an answer for you beside life happening and writing inspiration fading. With a new year upon us I will try to get back on the blogging scene and what best topic to start the year with than giving you a glimpse into what homeschooling looks like in our home with now two teenagers.
