It 's been a while since I have done a wrap up. Fridays have come and gone by so quickly that I barely saw them.
We have been on summer schedule for a couple of weeks now. What does that mean? I am not so sure. The kids are really doing whatever they want these days, although we are finishing our TOG 1 this summer. We are at week 30 and studying the Roman era. This week we have been working on a salt dough map of the Roman republic during the Punic Wars. It is not done so no pictures yet. Zach is really enjoying studying Ancient Rome and reads all of the books on the subject, and imagining himself as a roman soldier. He has a whole story about how he became a roman soldier.
At the end of June the boys participated in a Christian Homeschool Track and Field (300 participants) and Joho won a gold medal. He was really happy and surprised. It was our fist time participating. Zach who is not my athletic one did not fair as well but is willing to practice for next year.
In the past weeks we had been doing lots of Math games but for the month of July I am taking a break from school except for history. Also, in the past weeks up to now the boys have been listening over and over to a dramatized version of the Chronicles of Narnia on audiobook which is very close to the books. The boys really love it.
Zach has been taking a summer violin note reading and fiddling class. No need to mention which he enjoys . . .
The boys just finished this week a 6 weeks-long soccer practice with our homeschool groug.
Last week-end we went to kentucky to see the Creation Museum. Zach had fun. Joho enjoyed the garden most. As for the adults we were quite disappointed with the lack of depth of it all but that is for another post of its own.
Next week the boys and I will be attending 2 DVBS, one in the morning at our church and one in the evening at our previous church.
As for me, I have been spending lots of time on the facebook page and forum of the Homeschool crew, which I am very excited to participate in. Be on the look out for my reviews in the coming weeks.
