Top Ten Character Traits Needed in Homeschooling

 Homeschooling is no easy task. Many parents often tell me they do not know how I can do it. To be honest I can't. I am only able to do it as I recognize that it has been appointed to me by the Lord and, that being the case, He equips me daily. My task really is to keep leaning on His Spirit to guide me and equip me with the qualities that I need to be the mom and teacher He intends for me to be.

So here is a run down of some of the 10 top character traits that are needed in homeschooling:
  1. Patience
  2. Calmness - self-control
  3. Kindness and gentleness
  4. Trust in the Lord - faith
  5. Devotion and perseverance
  6. Forgiving spirit - forbearance
  7. A willingness to learn
  8. Flexibility
  9. Humility
  10. A transparent love for the Lord.

You will notice that I did not put a gift of teaching. Really if you exercise the above it will compensate that fault if you think you are not a good teacher, especially #7.

Also, I have to say that these are qualities in which I do not in any way excel in, but that the Lord is perfecting in me through homeschooling, for which I am grateful. I need to constantly rely on his grace.
