Thoughts on faith

Today was sunday and of course we were at church. Our pastor talked on faith this morning and I thought I would share some of the things he said.

"It does not require good works to get to heaven; it requires perfect works. Therefore, our work could never get us to heaven. Only faith, the gift of God, anchored in God and based on the knowledge of Him and His Word, can and will get us to heaven."

"Faith is essential for our salvation, our sanctification and our service."

The God in whom our faith is anchored is Eternal, Powerful an Faithful, therefore when faced with a problem, we may say to ourselves "This is too big for me", but we must say next: "This is a small thing for God."

These words were really meaningful to me as I struggle in so many areas in my homekeeping, scheduling and routine. I was again reminded that whatever we are struggling with we need to entrust it to God and really trust Him to work it out. Our God cares and is willing to act on the behalf of his children."

When it comes to the how of homeschooling, and the method that we all follow, with the 20 plus blogger participating I can guarantee you, no method will be the same. Are you studying the Reformation? Do you love Historical Fictions? Do you love reading about the heros of the faith? Then read on... As a homeschooler I always encourage my fellow homeschoolers to include Historical fictions in their study of History as it helps students really enter the time period that they are studying and get a better picture of how people lived and what they felt.
