Maximize your Morning Challenge - Week 5: wrap-Up

It's wrap-up time over at So I Married a Mennonite on how our month long challenge into maximizing our mornings went.

I am going to start my wrap-up with 2 quotes:

" The biggest room in the world is the room called Improvement"

"Christians are work in progress"

Yes, these summarizes where I am in the challenge. I have improved, but there is lots of room for more. Yet, I am not discouraged because I know I am a work in progress in the hands of the Almighty God.

Overall I have been able to wake up earlier than I used to, except for this past week, during which I have been feeling very tired.

I have reaped the rewards of waking up before the kids, and getting organized for day, as well as time spent in the Word and in Worship. I think I will still adjust that time further, but again it will be a process. I am thinking of getting a routine of working in the kitchen in the early morning listening to an audio reading of the Bible.

I have not made any progress regarding the exercise part, but I really need to loose weight, so this will have to become a priority.

Schedule wise I have not made much progress there yet either, but I am certainly getting there. I am in process of changing our schedule, so this will be a good time. Also next week will be our first break after 4 weeks of school, so hopefully it will give me  time to get my household routine up and running. I did though, rearrange my home binder (which was in a very pathetic state). I am really excite about that, new binder, protector sheets and more separations.

What did I gain from participating in the challenge?

I reconnected with the Word of God in a new way: Life has this way of taking you away from it. It is so refreshing to get back to where we should be.

I got motivated. Motivation is so important and instrumental in anybody actually doing anything. Even if I have not succeeded in everything, I am motivated to keep up and get better. This was a great boost.

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's story:   When
