In my life this week...
For the past few weeks I have been trying to get hold of my time and be more effective in the way I juggle household, homeschool, church and down time. I am making progress, but my blog suffers from it. I am totally fine with it, as it is of course a matter of priority.
In our homeschool this week...
In the past couple of weeks a lot has happened. We were able to follow our schedule and cover all of our different subjects. Last Saturday we had a project fair, which went quite well. The boys really enjoyed it.
Joho's was on boat:
Zach's was on police
This week we concluded our Unit 2 of TOG year 1. This was a long unit with lots of information but we made it through. Their favorite part was learning about Ancient India, Ancient China and Ancient Greece.
The boys enjoyed playing with balloons as we started studying about electricity in our Real Science 4 kids.
In Math I have implemented Math computer games for Zach from BBC Skillwise and Helping with Math.
Places we're going and people we're seeing...
We went to the park both last week and this week. It is still a bit chilly but the sun was calling my outdoor loving younger son, so out went. . .
My favorite thing this week was...
Seeing the kids playing together more this week, and also getting along more rather than disagreeing with each other. My hubby reminded me of the verse : "How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity. . ."
Also, seeing my boys learning to play chess better, with a book about chess opened in front of them.
What's working/not working for us...
Our study of Training Hearts Teaching Minds and the Bible memory system from Charlotte Mason is working well for us. The kids know their verses and their catechism well. They ask a lot of questions which is even better.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
I need to find a spelling program that uses minimal actual writing. Does that even exist or is that completely unrealistic?
A photo, video, link, or quote to share...
A puzzle map of Israel
Phoenician bread (in other word pita bread), which Zach really enjoyed. I hate to say it was good. The recipe came from the activity book of Story of the World I

Love your hair! Did you get it cut? It's nice to see you in some pictures!
What a blessing the Lord warmed up the day enough for your boys to enjoy some outdoor time!
I miss you! I feel like we haven't "talked" in a long time! Expect an e-mail from me in the next couple of weeks (I have a lot going on right now so I am staying busy!)
Blessing to you!
