Update time

As the end of the year approaches, it is also time for assessement. School wise, Zach is doing well, he has complete book D of his BJU reading program, and reads at a grade 4-5 level (according to the Sonlight online assessment I just had him do). He has started on book 2 of his Horizon math program. We are taking a break from English over the holiday season but are keeping math up to next week, since he tends to go more slowly on his math. Christmas cards and presents are still in the making, but the baking has started. I am still hoping to make a gingerbread house. We will see if that will happen. The Christmas tree has been up for awhile now and I LOVE the lights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Have a great day and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, Joelle

Baking session

My boys love to bake and play in the kitchen. They do have their own play kitychen which they enjoy a lot but nothing beats the real thing. We sometimes have my niece and nephew over and the last time they were over we decided to bake a bake. Here are some of the pics from the preparation time. Don't ask me what happened to the cake Have a great day, Joelle

Super why in the house

My 5 year old loves letters, spelling and the likes. His favorite shows are Super why and Word World. He loves playing super why in the house by gathering the letters for a word and placing them all over the house (which accounts for 1/2 of them being lost). Then he goes around pretending to find them like in the shows. It is rather interesting to watch him do that. Here are some pics. Have a great day, Joelle

Accomplishment

My 3 year old has been trying to write and read. He knows most of his stories so well, that you can almost think  that he is actually reading. He loves to put his fingers under the words and say the word or have you say it. Here is a pick at his attempt at writing the word stop. He also can write the first 3 letters of his name. My other boy, has been back into drawing, which he used to do a lot of when he was 3, but then stopped. Here is one of his latest projects. He has also bee into craft which is weird considering this has never been his thing. On the right is Zach's work (almost 5), and on the left is Joho's (3) Both of them are very agile on the computer. I am quite amazed at how my 3 year old can handle the mouse on a little computer: Have a great day, Joelle
