Math Rider - TOS Review

Looking for a way to help your child with his math facts? Our latest review product is for you. Math Rider is a math facts game that does just that.   What is Math Rider? Math Rider is a downloadable interactive computer Math game that helps with mastering the 4 basic operation math facts: subtraction, addition, multiplication and division. Math Rider is geared toward kids grade 2-6 (or ages 6-12). However, if your child can count and add he can benefit from it, and same goes with an older child that needs practice with math facts. The way Math Rider works is that your child gets to ride a horse named Shadow through quests in a land called Mathland. The goal is to obtain 100% mastery in each operation. The way this is accomplished is by riding through a quest and answering Math facts questions along the way, as fast as possible and as accurately as possible. If you answer wrongly your horse slows down and you do not get points toward mastery. The more your answ...

7 Quick Takes Fridays

1.    All school subjects  got done this week: Math, English, Spelling, French, Reading, Science, Geography, Vocabulary. 2.    We started A Child's Geography by Ann Vo  and I really love this curriculum, both the content and how it makes you aware of the needs in the world around us. The project they worked on at the end of chapter 1: Where they fit in the context of how big the world is: Zach, in his house, in his city, in his province, in his country, on his continent, on the earth: 3.    How a game of Monopoly with a 6 year old and an 8 year old can become a not so fun time. My boys love to play Monopoly cards and Monopoly U-built. However, neither of then are good sports, but more so my youngest. Last night, they both were losing badly, and it ended in tears and suspended game. These are great opportunities to teach them about the reality of life and how it is all about enjoying each other's company and a game together, rathe...

We don't have the car yet but hopefully soon. 3.   Praise God for another year. It was my birthday today. My meal (courtesy of hubby): My gift: 4.    Found out the best way to see if your child understands a concept, have him explain it to his sibling (especially to one that is younger. 1.  We finished school for this term 2 weeks ago, and have been enjoying our first week of break. Here are some of what they had done in the past month: 2.  Our church Cantata went well, praise God. The duet my hubby and I  sang went very well as well, for which we are grateful. Right at this moment my kids are singing the cantata in their bedroom over and over with much enthusiasm. Very sweet. 3.  Christmas pictures have been taken, I just don't have them yet. These are just some I took for fun: 4. Gifts are all wrapped up and mostly given out. 5.  I experienced the blessing of God's protection as I had an auto accident ( collision) last night without injuries for my son and me. We might need a new car though, but that's still to be determined. At least I do not have to incur any cost as I was not at fault. 6.  I am very happy about the new playbook I got for christmas. Another praise item. 7.  One of our traditions from ...
