It's been a while since I have joined the Canadian Homeschool Blogging Team monthly post . I  am back this month on the theme of Hands-on Learning. Kids learn well with hands on activities. This is especially true for kinesthetic learners, but every kind of learner can benefit from some hands on learning. My favorite hands on activity to use with the boys are games. With Christmas coming up, I thought I would share with you a few educational games, that might be new to you, but nonetheless that are fun to play 1. The Presidential Game 2. We love Logic at our house. One of the skills,  besides a love for God and His Word, we long to develop in our kids, is the skill of critical and logical thinking. One of the last products we got to review for the crew was one of those. Are you studying the Reformation? Do you love Historical Fictions? Do you love reading about the heros of the faith? Then read on... As a homeschooler I always encourage my fellow homeschoolers to include Historical fictions in their study of History as it helps students really enter the time period that they are studying and get a better picture of how people lived and what they felt. I am really excited about Danika's new book on Martin Luther: When Lightning Struck: The Story of Martin Luther. If you do not know Danika, she is the author and creator of the Bible curriculum I often mention on my blog, called Bible Road Trip . Spelling, oh spelling! Spelling has always been one of those subjects that the boys have had a hard time to master. Since I started homeschooling I have always heard about Institute  for Excellence in Writing  (IEW) but only came to know about their spelling curriculum about 5 years ago. Because of tight budget I had never made the plunge, but I always thought it would be a great product to try with the boys.
