Work for me Wednesday

Thanks to a comment from a kind soul on my blog, I have implemented a new memorizing system at our house. Everydody seems to enjoy it, except for Joho, but that's normal for him.

The system comes from Simply Charlotte Mason and you can find it described here. It is very easy to set up and implement. The only work involved is actually writing all the verses out, and getting the cards and the box.

She does have a list of suggested verses, which is very good, but I chose to memorize the verses from our devotionals first.

We are using 2 at the moment with which I am really pleased:

This book is very engaging and interactive. It covers a wide range of questions from who we are, who God is, what he came to do, what He expects from his children, the Beatitudes, the 10 commandments and lots more. It has an activity section, verse and prayer as well in each chapter. Great for ages 4-8.

I hope this helps someone, we really have been enjoying these.

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's story:   When
