Tag You're It - I Want To Know

My friend Kristenph @ A Day in the Life tagged me last week and wants me to answer these questions:

  1. Do you have any special Christmas goodies that you like to make every year?

I like to make special and not so special cookies, special breads and Buche de Noel (Yule Log). I posted some last year on my recipe blog The Recipe Box. I'll try to add more this year.

1. Do you send Christmas cards? Photo? Letter?

I try to send a christmas newsletter with a picture to our friends and family members.

2. Do you have a favorite Christmas or birthday gift that you received as a child?

Not that I can recall, but I am sure I did. My memory of my earlier years (even the latter ones -truth be told) is not that great, sad to say.

3. What was your favorite subject in school? Is it your favorite to teach?

I loved Math and Grammar. I enjoy teaching Grammar. Math, well that's another story.

4. Are you a morning person or a night person?

I am definitely not a morning person. I wake up grumpy (oups!) I did not use to stay up late, because I love my sleep, but for the past few years I have been staying up later and later. I am definitely an afternoon kind of person.

5. What is one thing you wish you had more time to do?

I am not sure. I guess I wish I had more time to read, I rarely read these days, and I have piles of books around waiting.

6 What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Strawberry or cherry, but from an ice cream parlour. I mainly eat Store bought ice cream with cake or pie, and it would then be vanilla.

7. Do you make your bed every day?

Here comes the question I wish was not there. Can I beg out? The answer is no. Tell me I am not the only one.

Here are my questions:

1. What is the one thing you find the most difficult about homeschooling?

2. What is the one thing in your children (or one of your children) that you have the hardest time to deal with or manage?

3. What is the most amazing place you have ever visited?

4. What do you like to do when you are alone?

5. How many days of the week (on average) does your scheduling gets followed?

6.  Are you the kind that lets the folded laundry sit awhile before putting away, or it gets put away right away?

7. Do you plan the Christmas season out?

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's story:   When
