Weekly Wrap-Up

It is Friday and time to remember what we did this week.

We did do school:

  • Math on Time 4 Learning, this is giving them lots of review and practice. The subscription is for 1 month so, after that we will resume to our regular schedule.

  • Language Arts got covered through First Language Lessons, Writing with Ease and Grammar Island and some handwriting practice as well. So far so good on all front.

  • We only did one chapter in science this week; reason: starting school late!

  • French

  • Music appreciation

  • History. We had a little drama this week as Zach was not impressed at the life of the medieval monks and felt very bad for them which turns into big tears and and "I don't get the point!" comment. He even when as far as wanting to live like a monk for a day to try to understand what the point was. One night as he was finally falling asleep, at 12:00 am, he was going to set an alarm to wake himself up at 3:00 am. I had to remind him that they went to bed at 6:30 pm in order to wake up that early.

We had a great trip to the zoo yesterday. Joho has been wanted to go see the Penguins that came in in the spring and we were all glad to see them.

the beaver tail of course

School was shortened today as Joho showed some rashes on his hands and feet and a bit on his thighs, which led us to the pedia. I thougfht it was his exzema returning but it turned out to be Hand and Foot disease. The doctor said it should go away by itself.

The boys are still into battle (roman and greek) so decided to make themselves helmets. They did it themselves and it did not turned out quite the way they wanted. Do I need to mention I Hate papier mache.

We went to the zoo yesterday :) Ours is fairly small, not much to it at all. But it was a great time by all. I'm not trying to rhyme, I promise!
Stopping by from your FB feed but also the Weekly Wrap-Up (I just haven't got mine up yet!)
Have a great weekend!

Reformation Day Giveaway

We are approaching October 31, which is an important date for all protestants. This date commemorates Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to a church door on October 31, 1517 in Wittenburg, Germany, which in turn provoked a debate that resulted in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. As the “Father of the Reformation”, Martin Luther is a vital figure in Church History. His sacrifice and willingness to wage battle against the spiritual, religious, and political powers of his medieval world allowed Christians throughout time to embrace the following truths: salvation by grace alone , through faith alone,  and in Christ alone, along with the supremacy of Scripture, referred to as  Scripture alone, and all of it for God's Glory Alone. These being commonly called the Five Solas of the Reformation.  Danika Cooley, author and creator of the Bible curriculum Bible Road Trip ,  has recently written a book for young people recounting Luther's story:   When
